Exercise Science
“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.” – John F. Kennedy
Exercise Science is the study of human movement and the associated functional responses and adaptations. The Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science combines coursework with practical experience to provide students with the preparation needed to be successful in a variety of fitness, wellness, and sports performance settings. Additionally, our program prepares students for graduate school in exercise physiology, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Quincy University offers two areas of concentration in the Exercise Science Program:
- Human Performance – prepares students for attainment of professional certification in human performance fields (personal training, strength coaching, etc.)
- Pre-Physical Therapy – prepares students for acceptance into health field graduate programs (physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc.)
- Pre-Athletic Training – provides background knowledge and experience as preparation for taking a national certification exam in personal training.
